Ausplow managing director John Ryan visited Wongan Hills this week to talk with Ausplow owners in the Wongan Hills district. The visit, hosted by DBS dealer Boekeman Machinery, also inclouded a relaxed around-the-table talk with DBS owners.

John provided them with some insight into the company's R&D program and some of the directions he believed agriculture was heading.

He also fielded questions from farmerswho were interested in such things as paired rows, non-wetting issues, liquid deliveries and deep tillage.

According to John, these topics reflect the evolution of a revolution in one pass crop establishment which actually started in England in the early 1960s with a practice called direct drilling.

"We're on an exciting learning curve and the more we probe the more we discover just what a complex system we're dealing with in terms of the knowledge we need to grow high yielding crops,"he said. ""We are gettingf there with the tools we have and the new crop varieties coming on stream but we should always remember the basics of firstly getting soil balance and structure in place."

The visit was well received by Boekeman Machinery which is an enthusiastic supporter of Ausplow and has quickly established a market presence selling DBS and Multistream equipment.
